As of September 13, 2026, this final re-review separates the global Gilsonite market into core producing origins, processing/re-export gateways and comparable natural-asphalt benchmarks instead of treating every country as the same type of supply hub. Six hubs carry non-binding numeric FOB/FCA planning indications from USD 290–1,450/MT: Iran and the United States as core Gilsonite origins; Türkiye as a processing/re-export gateway; and Albania, Trinidad and Tobago, and Colombia as producing natural-asphalt or asphaltite benchmarks. Iraq/Kurdistan is now included as a verified Gilsonite-producing origin, but it is shown on an RFQ-only basis because no sufficiently transparent current product-specific public FCA/FOB benchmark was found. Iran remains aligned to the August 27, 2026 hub matrix, and Türkiye uses the first-week September 2026 FOB İskenderun schedule. Final executable prices require lot-specific COA/TDS, quantity, packing, origin documents, inspection, payment terms and shipment-window confirmation.

Basis
All numeric rows use FOB for sea-port export gateways or FCA for mines, plants and land corridors. CFR, CIF, DAP and DDP are excluded so destination freight does not distort hub comparison.
Hub classification & price method
The page separates core Gilsonite producing origins, processing/re-export gateways and comparable natural-asphalt/asphaltite benchmarks. A numeric price is shown only when product-specific evidence can be paired with a defensible FOB/FCA commercial anchor. Verified producing origins without a transparent current public benchmark are shown as RFQ-only and excluded from the numeric color map. HS 271490 customs data are directional cross-checks only because the code also covers broader natural bitumen and asphaltic materials.

Why is Iraq listed without a numeric price?
Iraq/Kurdistan has direct mine and export evidence and is therefore treated as a real Gilsonite producing origin. However, no sufficiently transparent current product-specific public FCA/FOB schedule was found, so the page shows RFQ-only rather than creating a false benchmark.
What is the difference between a producing origin, re-export hub and benchmark?
A producing origin has documented extraction. A processing/re-export hub handles or processes material for export but may use imported mine feed. A natural-asphalt benchmark is a commercially comparable product such as Selenizza®, Trinidad Lake Asphalt or Colombian asphaltite and should not be assumed chemically identical to Gilsonite®.
Why are some large HS 271490 exporters not shown as Gilsonite hubs?
HS 271490 aggregates natural bitumen, asphaltites, asphaltic rocks and related materials. A country is priced only when the trade signal can also be matched to documented product supply and a defensible FOB/FCA commercial basis.
How should Türkiye be interpreted?
